Harveys Real Estate Group has long been involved in philanthropic activities and a major supporter of community organisations throughout New Zealand. To further the group's charitable works, Harveys launched its own charitable trust, the Harveys Stepping Stone Foundation in December 2006.
The ethos behind the Harveys Stepping Stone Foundation has evolved since its inception. Originally, the focus was primarily on the youth in society such as schools, individuals, youth aid groups, community support organisations, and sporting teams & individuals.
Following a review, the decision was made to move Stepping Stone's focus to individuals who are less fortunate due to illness/medical conditions, and/or financial hardship (through circumstances beyond their control) and are therefore less likely to be able to help themselves.
We hope that donations from the Foundation will be positively life changing.
Stepping Stone provides a fantastic opportunity for all of us at Harveys to put back into our communities under a national charitable identity. Initially, funds were generated solely from each sales transaction by the Harveys offices, but more recently additional funds have been generated from specific fundraising activities in each region such as charity dinners, auctions, golf days etc. This has enabled the Foundation to increase the monetary support available.
The Trustees of the Foundation are comprised of members of the Harveys group from various regions around the country:
Philip Searle
Stuart Whyte
Bruce Coutts
Ross Hunter
Christina Harvey
The Trustees will consider applications received throughout the year.
Applications for funding can be made by filling out this form.
The Foundation needs your support, and not just in terms of donations. If you have ideas for fundraising opportunities, please communicate these to Bruce Coutts on (09) 832 2623 or by email awymer@harveys.co.nz so that we can continue to grow the funds necessary to help support those in need in our communities.
